The small print

How I handle privacy, images, and your data.

This website features candid photography taken in public places. My goal is to document authentic moments of everyday life and share them as an artistic expression.

In Ireland, it is generally legal to photograph people and places that are visible from public spaces, as there is no reasonable expectation of privacy in such settings.

While I lean on these legal foundations, I also value transparency and respect for my subjects. You can find the specifics of how I handle privacy below:

How these images are used #

  • Artistic and documentary only
    Images on this site are used purely for artistic or documentary purposes.
  • No commercial use
    No one featured in these photos is used to promote products or services without explicit consent.

GDPR and data protection #

Under GDPR, identifiable individuals in photos are considered personal data. However, GDPR allows for exemptions for journalistic, artistic, and literary purposes.

If you appear in one of my images and would like it removed, you have the right to object to its publication, and I will respect genuine requests.

Children in photos #

I am especially mindful when photographing children. While children may appear in wider public scenes, I generally avoid publishing close-up identifiable images of minors without parental consent.

All images on this site are my original work and are protected by copyright. They may not be copied, redistributed, or used elsewhere without my written permission.

Image metadata #

All images published on this site have GPS coordinates and EXIF metadata stripped to protect the privacy of locations and individuals.

Site privacy #

This website is designed to be simple and privacy-friendly:

  • It does not use analytics or third-party trackers.
  • It serves no ads and does not profile visitors in any way.
  • This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and images are served from Cloudflare R2. Cloudflare may process connection data (IP addresses, request logs) as part of providing these services.
  • Cloudflare may set a security cookie (cf_clearance) to protect against bots and abuse. This cookie is not used for tracking or profiling.

The only personal data collected is what you voluntarily provide if you use the contact form.

The contact form uses Web3Forms to deliver messages to my email. By submitting the form, you agree to their processing of your message. See the Web3Forms privacy policy.

Messages sent through the form are used solely to respond to your enquiry and are retained only as long as necessary. They are not shared with anyone.
